Welcome to The Sandpiper Studio
Welcome back! The autumn term is now in full swing with our course on 'Painting and Drawing Boats and Coastal Scenes'
Students are completing this course online or attending the studio in small class sizes.
It's great to look back over holiday photos or plein air sketches
Coronavirus Update 'Good News!'
First of all I would like to thank everyone for their tremendous support to The Sandpiper Studio during the temporary closure. I have enjoyed keeping connected with you all via emails, texts, phone calls and especially the WhatsApp class groups which have been great fun.
We will be opening the studio doors again on Monday 5th October for the start of the autumn term of classes. Details outlining our new 'safe space' policy will be sent to students before this date but, for now, we must clean our palettes, sharpen our pencils and polish those new paint brushes ready for going 'back to school'
Most of our visiting artists have now confirmed new workshop dates for 2021 and details can be found on our 'Workshop and Demos' page.
Looking forward to seeing you all again very soon.
The Sandpiper Studio is the dedicated studio of Wirral artist and tutor Julie McLean BA Hons who has been teaching adults in a variety of drawing and painting media for more than twenty-five years.
The Sandpiper Studio is set in a peaceful countryside location at Foxes Farm and Riding School on the Wirral Peninsular which is home to some of the finest parks, nature reserves and coastal scenery in Britain.
The large, bright studio provides the ideal space for painting with friends in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Small class sizes ensure individual learning needs can be met and all abilities from beginners to advanced level are welcome.
Julie teaches weekly art classes from Monday to Thursday during term time and visiting artists, from the UK and abroad, provide specialist tuition in workshops and demonstrations throughout the year.
